Spend half a day with us and you will learn about how we live in this region today, and in which parts of our daily life we follow the Viking footprints that were first walked here over a thousand years ago.
You will learn about old handcraft techniques, food traditions, plants and farming, and ancient mystical belief and folklore. You may even learn some secrets from the area that very few people know about today. Maybe you would like to try on some reconstructions of Viking clothes, and find out how you would look as a Viking?
At a visit to us, you will be welcomed as our private guests, and you will be treated with traditional hospitality.
As an introduction to food and plant traditions, you will get a lunch of home made snacks that consists of locally made food from our own Viking garden or harvested in our forest. Everything with a hint of Viking Age, and based on local tradition. The selection will depend of the season, and there will always be something tasty, and maybe even surprising to taste on a visit to Viking Footprints.
- The Half Day Private Cultural Experience is a chance to go back in time and immerse yourself and your companions in what life was like during the Viking Age and the footprints it has left to the present day.
- Learn how people really lived during the viking age, how they dressed, what they ate, and what their view of the world was like.
- Learn and try for yourself some Viking skills, and begin to understand what daily life was actually like a 1000 years ago.
- Was it really such a savage time, or was there more law and order and sophistication that you think? What was the role of women?
- Whether sunshine or rain, we will put together a range of activities that you can try for yourself.
